Christmas in London

Walking home tonight from the bus stop in Leister Square, I wound my way through the crowded streets of Covent Garden and was glad to find the familiar path back to an AirBnb rental which has become my temporary home.

My room is above a dentist office on what looked like a quiet street, at least the online reviews said it was but, oh well. It’s also down a little ways from a parking garage and a brew pub. During the day, local shops are bustling with tourists but at night, ah, it’s showtime. So far I’ve heard a sing-a-long to the chorus of YMCA, We are Family and watched from between the blinds in my window as a bicycle powered rick-shaw driver repaired a flat on his hot-pink furry sofa ride. My one room studio on the fringe of the Theater District of Covent Garden is like having a box seat in Busker Alley.
